Leadership Training with Naina

Leaders from all the companies under RK Group gathered on 15th May at a resort near Nandi Hills. The group comprised CXOs from RK World, Robust Kommerce, Westbury (Fashion & Sportswear), RK Fabrics as well as the philanthropic arms (The Jain Foundation and Kalandri Foundation). Objective of this gathering was simple: bring all the leaders under one roof, get to know each other better and discuss key leadership traits as a group. The session was facilitated by Naina Sahni, a PhD scholar and CEO coach.

Mr. Ramesh Shah, Founder and Chairperson of RK Group, started the session with a warm welcome to everyone. This was followed by each of the leaders speaking about themselves – not just their business roles but also their personal attributes. Along with some fun facts about each other, Akshay & Sonal touched upon the group’s values as well as their vision for the group. We had a brief overview of each business (key numbers, achievements, etc.) from the business heads. Philanthropic arms shared their views on how they were making an impact at the grassroots level.

Naina then immersed the group in deep thinking about leadership traits. Discussions and reflections covered “traits of a successful leader”, “dysnfuntional vs great teams”, “ladder of influence”, “the Iceberg model”. Leaders contextualized these models to their own businesses and presented to each other. Naina helped interpret and clarify the concepts.

The session ended with closing remarks from Mr. Ramesh Shah in which he termed this leadership group as “RK family”. Leaders left the gathering reflecting on the leadership traits and feeling a special bond with each other and the group!
